No. My cats sometimes scratch away and I have never had any problems with using this system. I like it, and I know my 2 cats like it too. Sometimes the refills are a little hard to find in store and they were 15.99 and now sales price is 17.99 I do not buy them if they are at the 21.99 price.

It's not like a plastic bag. The litter box is cardboard but fairly strong enough. It comes with a great amount of crystals. I believe your pets claws will touch the bottom. I've had mine over one year and no scratches and no breaks in the tray.

Holes in the litter box? No way. They can't. I have three neurotic cats, two of them are horrendous scratchers and the cardboard on this is really tough, you can't even bend it.

I don't think that cats can scratch holes in these boxes. Our two cats haven't so far.

Question

What is the cat to litter box ratio?

Anyone have more than two cats? We live in a multiple cat house, so we have several litter boxes. Does anyone else have more than two cats in their household? We have some large and small cats.

I have 2 cats too. I have a regular litter box and another litter box that uses stone like pellets and a pad to soak up their urine. Both work pretty well so far :). I've read somewhere that 1.2 litter boxes for 2 cats, and above that, an extra litter box for each. so, if 2 cats, 1.5 boxes for each, 3 cats, 2 boxes or 3 etc. I use the 2, and so far, my cats use them pretty well. Except, LOL, I don't get the regular box changed fast enough, and one of my pretties lets me know about it.

Yes. And we have two ScoopFree Litter boxes that use the blue crystal litter that tends to break down the waste quicker and truly reduces odor. Auto-scoops into closed container at end of box. Love it. (Note: Suggest not using cheaper refill trays that don't use the blue crystals.) Litter ends up last 2-3 weeks easily. ALSO recommend a higher end, grain-free food as that seems to really reduce the sheer volume of solid waste. My partner bought a cheaper "filler" dry food, and the amount of solid waste changed dramatically!

We have two cats and two letterboxes; one scoop free; one standard box with litter that has to be dealt with, because one of the cats refuses to use the scoop free. I tried using two scoop free, but she still did not wnat to use it.

I have 2 cats but i also have an elec litter box. It is great. I use Arm and Hammer corn litter i buy at petco. I just make sure every morning it is clean and the holder is clean add a little more litter and then check at night, I have another kitten on the way but i am sure the one box will be enough for all three of them. You just have to make sure it is always scooped out even though it is elec.

It gets scooped by the machine into a cardboard compartment on right of tray refill. At end of two weeks you throw whole tray away including the waste in the compartment.

Question

Why is the Spring Offer not good on Kitty Litter replacements?

I am very frustrated after receiving an email advertisement telling me about the $10.00 off, plus free shipping, if I ordered something that costs more than $49.00. So I found a ScoopFree Litter replacements (6 box package for $79.00) and much to my consternation and surprise, saw the red letters telling me that this purchase was not eligible for the "Spring Offer".

Why? It doesn't make any sense that of all things, Kitty Litter should be ineligible. Where did it say anything on the promotion that it was only for "select items". It says, "on your order" and it doesn't say "subject to approval" or any fine print disclaimer. So you got me to waste my time for nothing.

Not a good way to conduct business and it left a bad taste in my mouth about Petco's marketing practices.

I'm interested in your response. I'm guessing it will be, "sorry, but there's nothing we can do", but I am reserving my judgement because I have faith in the integrity of Petco, and I am giving Petco the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

Thanks,
Vernon West

This was most likely ineligible because it is a subscription product. They probably ding your card once each time it ships, rather than billing the whole thing up front.
