Why is the Spring Offer not good on Kitty Litter replacements?
I am very frustrated after receiving an email advertisement telling me about the $10.00 off, plus free shipping, if I ordered something that costs more than $49.00. So I found a ScoopFree Litter replacements (6 box package for $79.00) and much to my consternation and surprise, saw the red letters telling me that this purchase was not eligible for the "Spring Offer".
Why? It doesn't make any sense that of all things, Kitty Litter should be ineligible. Where did it say anything on the promotion that it was only for "select items". It says, "on your order" and it doesn't say "subject to approval" or any fine print disclaimer. So you got me to waste my time for nothing.
Not a good way to conduct business and it left a bad taste in my mouth about Petco's marketing practices.
I'm interested in your response. I'm guessing it will be, "sorry, but there's nothing we can do", but I am reserving my judgement because I have faith in the integrity of Petco, and I am giving Petco the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

I too learned the litter is exempt from the free shipping offer when going through checkout. It states that when you click on "details" written in black right under the "Free Shipment.." offer on top of their home page. It's because the litter is so heavy, thus shipping cost is quite high. For anything litter, you are better off purchasing in the store unless they have a fantastic price online that compensates for the shipping cost.

This was most likely ineligible because it is a subscription product. They probably ding your card once each time it ships, rather than billing the whole thing up front.
