This stand will hold 50-65 gallon aquarium. The instructions indicate support of 10 - 12 pounds per gallon (water). I would put a 40 gallon breeder tank on it.

I'm not sure about the dimensions of a 40 breeder tank, but if you're concerned about the weight, it seems to be fine with the weight of a 37 gal tank.

Question

Would this stand be ok to hold a 75g aquarium with dimensions of 48x18x21?

I know the tank would be hanging off the edge a bit at the sides, pretty much I'm asking would the stand be able to withstand the weight of a filled 75g tank. Wouldn't mind saving that extra $40 or so bucks too.

I would suggest purchasing the 75/90 gallon. Because while the stand probably be o k in terms of sitting on the edge, the danger would be the weight of the aquarium. The stand is designed to hold the maximum amount of weight (including water) for a 65 gallon tank.

You could cause an incredible accident trying to have it hold the weight of a 75 gallon tank and the company wouldn't reimburse you for your loss. I would spend the extra $40 bucks.

I don't think so. I think it would hang a LOT off the sides. I have a 37 gal on there, and it goes right up to the edge.

If this is in regards to the 26 gallon aquarium stand, then NO. The directions clearly state that it can hold no more than 260 pounds or roughly 26 gallons of water. I wouldn't chance it on saving $40 when your entire fish tank may end up shattered on the floor...

The back of this stand is partially open (when you assemble the stand - there will be a narrow strip in the middle). It would work well if you want to put a canister filter at the bottom. The stand would hide it.

There is the Biocube 14 and Biocube 29 with different size stands. The stands are very specific to the Biocube 14 or 29 and are not designed to have a tank that is larger than the platform. (Not designed to hang off the top of the stand)
