Way too small for a rat. My rat can't fit inside of it, assuming he could even get through the holes.

answer 2
Actually yes. I have it for my 1 and a half year old teddy bear hamster and he will just go in there and sit there and look out. They take up all of the space but enough space is left to get in and out and turn around. So maybe some hamsters dont use it but my teddy bear hamster does.

No offense He may not fit in it very well, I bought mine and put it in My Short Tailed Brazilian Opossum cage and he gets in it but it is Small for him. The Strings are one length and it would need to hang low for gerbils that don't like to climb or sit it on the cage bedding so he can climb in and out easy.

It's big enough for my tubby little gerbils...they can get into pretty small spaces when they want to.

Remember though, as I said in a separate review, that gerbils love to chew. Mine cut the four cords in no time at all and I had to return it.

Maybe your gerbil doesn't chew?

More than likely No it's hard to hang and the Mice Might Chew the Strings. If you can find a way to hang it you can try it but watch to see if it's being chewed. You could cut the strings off and set it on the cage bedding and they can play in it.

It will work if you have the screen on top. You can just attach the hooks onto it.

You can put a hole in the lid and pull all the strings through it then put the strings on a big key ring and it may hold the item so it is now hanging from the lid. Just guessing.

If you're using a CritterTrail or similar type cage, the Hamster Cube has hooks that can "click" onto the roof bars or the strings can be ties onto the roof bars.

I don't know what you're trying to hang, but can you hang it from the lid? If it's a wheel, you might be able to use twist-ties to suspend it upside down from the lid mesh or bars.

Question

Is this adjustable?

Is there any way to make the strings longer/shorter for my specific cage, or is it one size lengths? I really want to get this but my cage is pretty high for my dwarf hamster. Thanks :)

The Strings are one length not adjustable. The Dwarf Hamsters might try to chew it but You can try to sit it on the cage bottom or find a way to hang it low to where they can reach the holes to climb in it.

You can connect together the four cords that hold the corners up, and then attach them all to a twist-tie or other extension.

Can you use these for corn snakes or leopard geckos?

I know this sounds weird, but I am very curious. If it helps, I have an under-tank heater

Neither pet could reach the holes to climb in unless the item was placed on the bottom of the cage set up or for the lizard a stick would have to go through the holes for it to be able to climb in.
