Yes, this particular one is bigger than a regular tennis ball - I have 2 large White Shepherds and I worry they will get the smaller one stuck in their throats when they play hard and the bigger Kong ball is PERFECT!

I bought the regular size ball for my 10 pound Jack Russell. He is a chewer and that size was too small for him. He had no problem getting his mouth around it and squeaking it. If your dog is the same, I recommend getting a larger ball so it will last longer.

I have a 13lb Doxie he can fit 2 of the x-small's in his mouth at the same time and they get stuck. Terrifies me every time. I imagine the x-small would be the perfect size.

I would suggest you take the dog to the store with you and put the ball by the dogs mouth. You want to make sure the dog won't be able to swallow the ball by accident and you also don't want it to be too big that the dog could get the ball stuck in their mouth and not be able drop it. I would think the X-Small but it's better to be safe than sorry!

I would say the mini balls would be the one, small for sure. But if your dog chews up everything like mine does, he is huskey/bluehealer , Cyrus is a medium dog, he weighs about 30 lbs. I got him the 2.5 size ball.

Question

Would a tiny dog w/no snout be able to use this?

Our dog is extremely small with an extremely tiny mouth. She's also a breed with a pushed in snout/no snout to grab onto or push things.

She can only - so far - get her mouth around cat toys & is scared of soft latex dog
toys. She's very bored with the limited cat toys we've been able to find that are dog safe and not overwhelming for her size and I'm not sure these would be appropriate, even though there's an x-small choice.

Anyone with a similar sizing issue who's dog is able to get these to squeak? If not, any suggestions?

The extra small kong tennis balls are perfect for tiny dogs! Just be sure your dog is really too small to swallow the ball. For my toy Pomeranian these balls are so much fun.

I bought these balls while facing the same problem. They are perfect for the tiny dog to play with, about 1/4 the size of a regular tennis ball.

I have Great Danes and get the big ones, so I cant tell you if it would fit in his mouth, but I can tell you that they squeak really easy, which is what the dog likes, the sound. They are not as hard as tennis balls
Not a big help I know, but some squeak toys they have to bite really hard to get a good squeak, not these

If she only chewed off a bit, it is probably ok. If she ate a whole lot, call your vet as soon as possible.

Yes, I think the fuzz can be harmful, it's mainly felt and won't break down in the dijestive tract. I never let my dogs keep the balls after play because they skin them lickity split if I don't. One of my dogs chewed the fur off the cats furry mouse toys and swallowed the plactic mouse. Thank goodness I noticed she wasn't looking well right away & took her to the vets. $750 surgery to remove that from her intestine which luckily it hadn't perforated.

are the prices of the kong balls the same price in the store

It depends! Most of the time the prices are the same. However, they have sales that are internet only and they do NOT honor internet sale prices in the store. They also have the Repeat Delivery Pricing, which is not always lower, but if it is something that you purchase on a regular basis can cost you less. You can stretch out the deliveries pretty far apart and still get the same deal. You just have to keep an eye on that Repeat Delivery Price as it does fluctuate.

And make sure you have a Petco Pals Reward Card - every little bit counts!
