I too have an older arthritic dog. She is a German Shepherd and I have no problem threading her tail through the hole. I do that first and then work on wrapping the diaper around her and attaching the tape. We us these when on vacation where she has to ride an elevator for 11 floors and then a long walk to the 'doggie area'. I have never had a problem with these.

If your dogs tail is short, it is easy to put the tail through, if it's long, it will take a bit longer. I think you'll be disappointed if you buy these, they really don't work well. I tried them and have ended up buying baby diapers which are more absorbant and longer so they will stay on better. If your dog has a long tail, you can clip a hole in the diaper. Baby diapers might need a little adjusting to fit your dog, (I have to clip the elastic to allow them to fit my little guy better). He now wears them 24/7 because his health issues prevent him from going outdoors anymore, he is almost 16 and has had health problems his entire life.

Question

Diapers for a mail dog

We have a 13year old Yorkie who has started to urenate in the house overnight. The diapers that you have on your site are for females dogs, will they work for males? Do you have diapers just for little males. Thanks for the info.

These diapers do not work for a male, don't cover his tummy enough to catch the urine. I use baby diapers on my 16 year old yorkie mix, you will have to make a few adjustments (I clip the elastic so they fit a little better), then use tape where the need a nip or tuck. They are much more absorbant than the dog diapers and a lot cheaper!

Petsmart has the ones that are more like diapers, so you know. And they carry, in-store, for boys and girls. Fancy ones as well as the regular dog-diapers...whatever tickles your fancy!
