Most cat food does not list its calorie content. That said, what you really want is to control portion size and get BETTER QUALITY food. Whiskas and like brands contain lots of grain, like corn and wheat, which help cats put on the pounds. You should switch to a natural holistic food and snack brand (like Wellness) and control portion sizes if you really care about you cat's health. If cats do not overeat or eat things they shouldnt be (like grain and unnatural additives), then they will not become overweight. I have never had an overweight cat and I have had over 10 cats in my lifetime.
Also, your cat is probably missing some very vital nutritious if Whiskas and similar brand is all he is fed. Notice that natural and holistic brands have certain vegetables, fruit, vitamins and minerals that felines need, which are absent in much other food.
Lastly, you should always make sure snacks make up 10% or less of the diet, because most snacks are higher in calories than the regular food.
