Any *hard* carrier will be fine, really, if it's just for one ferret. I would suggest getting one that can open up at the top though, for easy access and cleaning.

I bought the Model 100 series for my female ferret and it is fine. Ferrets are small and do not weight much only 1-4 pounds the most. The Model 100 series does have a lot of room in the kennel with them in it.

Depends on the weight of your puppy. I got a 25 pound crate for my 5 pound puppy because I don't want him to outgrow it and he carries his blanket and plush toy inside with him. I also train him to do trick inside the crate like sit or roll so the extra room is helpful.

I have used the 24 inch high pens for small breed puppies or adults as they are easier to lean over and clean up or take a puppy in or out if you don't want to bother using the door, which some brands won't have. I have an adult mini dachshund that can still use this size but also have the 30 inch pen with a door as he can jump quite high and I feel this size is more secure.

Yes. And you can take your animal in to try the size out first. Keep in mind, it is considerably more expensive in-store, though. With free shipping here at Petco.com, it's the best of both worlds. Best of luck!

Yes. Animals that live together and weigh less than 14kg can fly together. It is not recommended, however, and so airlines might not want to let you put them together. Make sure you ask the airline.

I would suggest the Petmate Kennel Cab Fashion Portable Kennel. It even has a little clip on dish for food and water that clips on the door. I put my cat in one and he weighs 11.16 pounds. It all clicks together really easy.

Yes, its a good idea when the dog is in a sit. From the floor to top of their head. They should be able to sit up and not be hunched over in their crate. They should also be able to stand up with their head not bent over.

Question

what size plastic dog crate would I need for 3 cats med. size to share?

I have 3 wonderful barn cats that I would like to purchase a plastic dog crate for them to share in the winter. It is fairly warm in the hay loft but I want something besides hay for them to sleep on. I just wondered what size I would need for the 3 of them and a blanket for extra comfort and warmth.

Thanks,

I would suggest a large kennel the reason is their plenty of room and with three cats would give them roomto stretch and with the extra blankets they would fit nicely we have a xlarge kennel for our two dogs they are cockerspaniel and blue heeler mix they actually use half of the kennel when they both stand side by side

At 70-80 lbs. you should be looking at the 800 series kennel. However, if the kennel is used only for transportation and NOT for long trips or night time then you could utilize one size smaller.

Based on her breeds, she could get big so you should be looking at the 700 or 800 series. It's better to err on the larger side so consider the 800. I use the 600 series for my 40lb. Collie and 700 series for my 60lb. Coonhound.

Yes. I was able to bring my cat from Maine to California just fine and she was able to get on flight with me and I just put her underneath the seat infront of me where one of your carry ons are allowed to go. Because of the see through siding I used a pillow case to cover the carrier so that my cat didn't get stressed from seeing all the strangers in the airport and on flight. This worked really great for her.

The difference between the two is that the premium looks nicer, is better quality, and has a seat belt attachment for those that travel a lot. We got the premium and are quite pleased with it. However I am sure that the basic is just fine as well. We use ours daily so the premium is what ended up in our cart. I hope this helped answer your question. :)

Question

Travel Carriers for Larger Breeds

I live in NYC and have a Lab/Retriever puppy. I often travel to see family on Long Island and would like to travel with my dog. I travel by train and therefore need to have my pet crated during the trip. Since he is expected to be approx 65 pounds at maturity, I am having great difficulty finding a product designed for larger breeds that has wheels or carrier handles. Please advise. Thank you.
