I have got 2 Leopard geckos and have been useing Repti Carpet ever since I got them.
I clean mine about 1 - 2 times a month, and get a new carpet once a year (even though the carpet looks like it can go for easily 2 years, the $15 for a new one is nothing for my 2 girls).

answer 2
Yes, this would be an acceptable substrate for a Leopard Gecko. Other great substrates would include: Bark Blends, Coconut Husk, or Jungle mixes. The key is to make sure that you keep their habitat humid, so misting is important - particularly during sheadings.

Yes, this would be a fine substrate for a Crested Gecko. Another great substrate would be Coconut Husk Bedding (SKU: 1238507), this would help with keeping moisture and would also help to look more natural in this habitat.

answer 2
I use it with my leopard gecko and it works great so it should be fine for a crested. You should remember to have a heating pad under it and you have to clean it just as much as you'd clean out substrate so I clean mine once a week but more often isn't bad.

Question

Would this be safe to use with a hedgehog?

I just built my hedgehog a cage topper. The cage topper has 1/4in mesh wire for the floor, but her feet will go through it. I was thinking about covering it with this so it would be more comfortable for her to walk on. My concern is that she could ingest it. It says it is safe for reptiles because they can't ingest it, but they don't generally chew on things the way hedgehogs and other small animas do. If she does start to chew on it would a small amount hurt her or would I be able to remove it and have her be OK?

I would not use the terrarium liner for a hedgehog. It is synthetic fiber and is not digestible. If the hedgehog eats enough of it in a sitting it will block its intestinal tract.

Question

The Zilla terrarium liner is specifically designed for baby animals that might accidentally grab the substrate while eating. This is designed to protect against digestion problems that result from this. I would not be concerned about a frog being able to tear off a piece of the Zilla brand terrarium liner as it doesn't have pieces of material that stick up like other brands. My only hesitation is that it is not designed for holding up the humidity that tree frogs require. A better choice may be to use the Zilla Beaked Moss (natural product collected from wetlands in the Pacific Northwest). This is a substrate that I have used for years with Whites tree frogs, among other frogs.

This would be a great substrate for your red-tail boa! It would provide the healthiest option (above moss or other more decorative options) and the easiest to ensure a clean habitat. This is a great option even for babies as you don't have to worry about what they are ingesting from the substrate along with their food.
