I need to know how this works?

Im not familure with these Collars. i have a 25 lb shiba inu whos breed is known for running untill there heart gives out and trust me she Ran away today and it took us an hour to get her after running thru snow & tracing her tracks I CANT take it Anymore! i didnt see that it came with a inground fence?so i didnt know what this is????

You will get a unit about the size of a paint can that throws out an invisible signal in a radius around you house. When your dog goes outside of this radius, they get shocked. You can adjust the radius to suite your needs. You just plug the unit in, set the radius, put the collar on your dog, and you're good to go. It's portable as well so if you like to go camping, take the unit with you and you can set it up at you campsite or wherever you are going. I LOVE this thing!!

My dog (Husky) kept breaking the cheap collar the system comes with. I replaced it with a heavy duty collar and made the holes for the electronics with a soldering iron.

I use my electronic fence with Jack Russell Terriers and another smaller terrier, each weighing about 20 lb. You can put more than one dog on the system. Extra collars run $169. But are on sale right not for $119 at Petco.com

I HAVE 5 DOGS AND 4 HAVE COLLARS BECAUSE THE 5TH IS AN 8LB CHIAHWOWA. HE BARKS AND CHASES EVERYBODY, UNFORT THEY DO NOT MAKE A SMALLER COLL SO I REMOVED THE ONE FROM MY POODLE , CUT THE RED COLL TO FIT AND LOWERED THE VOLTAGE ON THE COLL. IT SEEMS A LITTLE TOO BIG BUT IT DEF STOPPED HIM FROM ANNOYING PEOPLE AND OTHER PETS. AFTER A FEW ZAPS THE COLL IS NOT NEEDED ANYMORE. INSTANT TRAINING. ALL MY DOGS ONLY GO SO FAR AND NO MORE. HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL.. ALSO PEACE OF MIND.

I have a 9.7 pound min pin and the collar works on her. It is a but bulky, but it doesn't seem to bother her.

The collar unit is fine for the dog, but the collar unit is too large and bulky for the cat. Is there a smaller collar unit, compatible with the PetSafe Wireless Fence that I can purchase for the cat?
