We also have two dogs which steal cat toys. Is there anything in this ball dangerous for dogs to eat/chew?

Catnip won't hurt dogs. They don't LOVE it like cats, but it won't hurt them. your dog large enough that he might gulp a little ball whole? That might cause some blockage. If he gnaws and chomps one up, it won't be problematic. If he chugs one down, it might take it a while to dissolve. Use your judgment on what he's eaten in the past. These hard balls are about an inch to an inch and a half around. (I can't find one right now to measure exactly)
