I have found that one diffuser works to about 60sq ft. I am only using one diffuser at the moment and I have it plugged in to a main hallway socket so that it is in a high traffic area - between where they nap and their litter box location. My appartment is over 1000sq ft and one diffuser has worked out well for me.

I have to say that after using it, I have noticed that when I put only one of these in our kitchen, dining room, living room area, about 600 sq. ft. that it did not have the same effect as in our 360 sq. ft. bedroom area. I think about 400 sq. ft. is the most area I would expect just 1 felliway dispenser to handle from my experience.

You may not want to switch kitty litter at the same time that you are making other changes in kitty's life. Sometimes if the litter is strange to them they not want to use the box. However, this litter is one of the best litters I have ever used and I would highly recommend it.

It's rated at 110 volts. It should work with an adapter for 220 if you need that. Be advised that the diffuser when plugged in sets 3 inches (7.6 cm) out from the wall socket. And a full bottle tends to tug downward where it connects to the socket. If you use an adapter that can add another 1 inch (2.54 cm) or more to how far it sticks out from the wall, which will also add to the downward angle it may hang while the bottle is full. So, select a snug fitting receptacle when you plug it in.

answer 2
Hi missApple,
I spent some time overseas where I had to use an adapter for my electronics so that I could plug a 110volt item into a 220volt outlet and be able to use it. An adapter should work with this, but the diffuser is more bulky than most electrical diffusers are and heavier even though the bottle is light weight plastic. So when I plug it in to my outlet here it sticks out 3 inches (7.6 cm) away from the wall and the weight pulls at the connection so you need a good tight fit for it where the prongs insert into the receptacle, a loose outlet is not advisable. A voltage adapter could add another 1 inch (2.54 cm) or more to how far it extends from the wall socket. The "head" of the diffuser does twist so that it can adapt to horizontal, verticle, or diagonally aligned sockets, but again the weight of a full bottle can be a problem. The diffuser does get warm with electricity constantly running through it.
I hope that helps.

What product will help cats that lick a lot?

My cat is 11years old and has been licking and itching a lot. To the point where he is going bald. He just developed an allergy to Advantage and we are at the end of a long battle with fleas. Will a calming product help him calm down? What else can I do to relieve this situation? Shampoos? Flea med that is less harsh.

Sounds like your baby is bored or nervous. If nervous, try Comfort Zone Feliway plug-ins. they give off a scent only cats smell and they are cat pheromones (hormones cats have in them for scenting). My cat was a mental case and they worked for her. Many times these guys get bored, get some quiet, not noisy, rubber balls to throw around the house. He's have a ball.

Also, baby, could be in pain, at 11 arthritis sets in, check that with your vet!! They have meds for pain like Ultram and GAbapentin to help little darling out if he's in pain.

Hi there; first I would rule out if his meds might be causing him itchiness; if the meds make him itch, no product will alleviate that. That being said, I find that the PetNarturals Calming Chews help my cat immensely; I happen to also use 'BachFlowerRemedy, for pets", as it has no harmful alcohol; it comes in liquid form, i put 4 drops in his water each day and when he is stressed i give him 4 drops orally and that does the trick. Each pet is different, and I have found that there is no escaping just trying different things until I find a combination that works. But for sure, you'd want to rule out any physical causes with your vet first it you can. And I've found that there is no replacing touch and reassurance, and that's free. Good luck!

Question

Does this product help soothe your cat just when the product is used?

My boyfriend and I adopted a 7 month old female kitten almost a week ago, and she gets scared easily and runs to go hide under the bed when she hears dishes clanking as I am washing them or when she hears our footsteps on the wood floor approaching the bedroom where she hides (two examples of many), and she hisses to our 7 year old male cat when he slowly approaches to smell her. I know she is still adapting to her new home but she is too nervous and feels like everyone's after her; I want her to relax a little.

I am interested in buying this product but I am not sure if this product helps soothe my cat only while I use it. When I decide to stop using this product, will my female cat go back to being stressful or does it all depend on how long I use it?

I can only tell you from my experience. I have 6 cats. 4 of them added recently in stages. My 2 original cats, especially my special needs cat, became extremely stressed to the extent I had to take him to the vets. They recommended this product. I did some research and decided to try it because I could not stand to see my baby so stressed.
I too. had the hissing all the time and my baby was hiding and not coming out.
The product did not work right away. It took about a week before I noticed anything. The hissing became less and less and my little guy was starting to stop hiding. After 2 weeks, he was actually joining in and playing.
I decided to see if it was the product or just the cats getting used to each other so I did not replace the diffuser. After a week, everything started to fall apart. My little guy was starting to hide again and the hissing started.
I bought a refill and in a few days, everything was back to peace and quiet.
I can't tell you if you will have to use it forever, I am hoping not. I would assume once a good period of time passes, everyone will be used to each other and get along fine, but for the time being, I will keep replacing the refill for my kitties state of happiness and well being.
It did work for me and saved my little family.

Hi, I'd suggest trying Feliway Multi-Cat to help your new kitty acclimate to her new home. It's available in Petco stores from the same makers of Comfort Zone. It's a new product developed specifically for calming cats in multi cat households.
Also, be patient. It could take a few weeks before your new kitty feels comfortable and a few months for the cats to acclimate to each other.

If you plug in a diffuser about a week before, it might work. I found that it takes about a week or so to see any affect. Also, you can try the spray for when your friend visits. Have her spray when she first comes over and see if that might help.
I do not have experience with the spray so I am just going by what I have read.

I can only answer using what I've seen after using both the defusers and the sprays. I have 5 cats and each cat seems affected differantly by the products. In my opinion you would have a better outcome if you used the spray. That way you can spray the area that you'll be working in and then just wait for your cats to get relaxed. My cats seem to get very sleepy when I use the spray or use a brand new defuser. I guess the sleepiness could help with grooming and trimming their nails since they won't be all stressed.

Comfort Zone with Feliway is formulated specifically to address territorial marking. Defecating outside the box is not a common demonstration of territorial behavior but if marking her territory is the cause it should help. It is more likely a litter or litter box issue. Try cleaning the box more frequently, washing and treating any rugs, mats or carpet around the box with an odor remover and even a second box.
