I put this into a hay feeder. I don't see what I'm using on Petco's site, but it is similar to their Super Pet Hay Buffet. It keeps the hay mostly in one area and things seem a bit tidier. As far as I know you can just put it into a pile on the floor, but I prefer the feeder. I also used cable ties to attach cardboard to the back of the feeder so that less hay falls out of the cage.

I use a hay rack and would not recommend that you spread this on the bedding as your pet may wee and poo on it and not want to eat it afterwards.

I have never used orchard grass, but I have some friends that do and they put it in a hay rack or roller, just like you would with timothy hay. But you can keep it in a bowl too. Its whatevr is easier for you.

If you're talking about rabbits, you can use a litter box and put the bedding and hay on top of that. For guinea pigs, you can just put it in one place or all over on top of the bedding. Add hay once or twice a day and change every other day completely. Be very generous with rabbits and hay. Not so much with the guinea pigs.

Try a farm supply store, where you can buy a small bale of timothy hay at a very reasonable price. Also, if you have a bunny rescue organization in your area, they may sell hay as well.
