I see there are three levels of this particular joint care...how long should my dog stay on each level? He just started level 1 three weeks ago.

For Cosequin DS: It took the full 6 weeks at the initial level to see the effects. I would do the recommended amount of time until you see a difference (maybe even a few days extra). My dog is 76 lbs and I was giving him 2 capsules in the morning and 1 at night until the end of wek 6 when there was a noticable difference in how he acted (not sore, stiff, limping, etc), so we went to the maintenance dosing of 1 in the morning and 1 at night. If it's going to be a damp day which affects his joints, I give him 2 in the morning and 1 at night; I can tell when he'll need the "extra" and when the maintenance dose (1 and 1) will do.

Does this do the same as Dasuquin does?

My dog had a torn ACL/CCL that was repaired 3 weeks ago. My vet wants her to be on Dasuquin for the rest of her life, but it is quite pricey ($100 for 150tablets)...would this do the same thing? I know the active ingredients are Chewable Glucosamine & Chondroitin.
