First of all vita sand comes in different weights. You would probably need to get 2-3 ten (10) pound bags of vita sand. I have a 10-20 gallon long tank and one ten (10) pound bag is not enough. Also it depend on your animal, meaning if he/she like to dig. Also it is a good idea to get a under tank heater (U.T.H). These can range from 20 dollars all the way up to $49.99. Hope this helps.
