Thank you for your question LauraD29. We do not recommend using the ceramic heat emitters on the dual bulb fixture. Ceramic heat emitters are designed to concentrate the heat outward from the flat facing of the bulb. In a dual incandescent fixture it would be facing the other bulb which will reduce the life of that other bulb. Heat emitters are best used in dome type fixtures where they face downward into the enclosure.

Question

Can you use the fixture for just a simple day & night bulb? I'm using a radiant heat panel for heating so another heat source is unnecessary. Thanks.

Incandescent bulbs will produce heat. If you are looking for general illumination and/or UVB I would suggest a fluorescent fixture.

Question

What are the dimensions of this product?

I'm planning on getting a 36x18x18 tank with a 30x5.4x3.2 UVB strip light. Will this sit side by side with that on the tank, or will I need to consider something else?

I don't see why not, I used a similar setup for both my beardie and my leopard gecko. To be honest though, your better off with a halogen UV bulb that spans the length of the cage, as it provides a healthy amount of UV rays, necessary for the reptile's growth, and a good amount of heat for basking. Good luck to you and your pet, and hope this helps!

My suggestion to you:

Bulbs - Day bulbs would typically be white or blue & Night bulbs would typically be black or red.

Not only can these bulbs be turned on separately, they use separate cords so they can even be plugged into timer controls if you choose.

These incandescent style light bulbs that work with this fixture all produce heat. All but the black also produce regular light for illumination (the black would not show any light).

This fixture would be appropriate for any sized tank over 20" in width - you would need to size the light bulb wattage based on tank size and animal type.

Yes, this would be a great fixture for bearded dragons.
