Is this product appropriate for hermit crabs and if so are they able to dig in thier substrate inside or is their a bottom?

The tree stump is bottomless. It is hollow and is placed directly on the substrate.

Thank you for your question Stacia. The Zilla Stump Den is not really designed with Hermit Crabs in mind. They would have a hard time getting into it, and if they do they would have an even harder time getting out. You would have to cut an opening at the bottom edge of it to allow a Hermit Crab to go in and out with ease.
