Since it is a sound effect, their attention is immediately focused on this sound. They stop what they are doing. I can be 50-75 feet away but as long as they see me and hear it, I have their attention. It is a very loud "hiss" sound that seems to carry a distance.

For our little schnauzer/yorkie mix it worked all the way across our back yard (approx 30 feet). I was up on our deck and she was at our back fence barking at someone. Not only did she stop barking, she moved away from the fence. I don't know what the max. distance is and I'm sure it depends on how sensitive your dog is to noise. Hope this helps!

MY Sheltie mix responds up to about 150 to 200 feet. My elkhound just gives me the why did you do that? look. If they see the red can they are quiet. most of the time.

will this stop chewing?

no matter what i do i cant stop my dog (whom i rescued off the side of the road) to stop chewing! i give him toys adn treats...my husband wants me to get rid of him so i need to fix it fast! hes destroying everything and nothing i've tried is working! will this stop it?

YES, but when your dog is doing it, use the Pet Corrector and make sure your pet sees where the sounds come from, and also say No Chewing.
I love this product.

Can't see how this would possibly work for chewing? It works off of the vibration of the vocal cords when the dog BARKS and the NOISE of barking?
Nothing to do with chewing.

I walk 2 Great Danes at the same time and it keeps them from pulling on the leash when they see other dogs. I hope this helps.

I think it's just compressed air. Container says "contains HFC 134a". I'm not sure it would meet all the new guidelines.
