The rungs on the panels are close together and even puppies cannot get through so a two pound yorkie would be secure.

answer 6
The wires within the wood outer frame are close enough that our pup's paws to do fit through them. I'm not where I can measure the space for you right now, and perhaps your yorkie's paws might fit in betwen the wires, but her body definitely will not. Hope this helps. Oh, something else - the two panels overlap and are help together with small bolts, so there is no space between the panels.

answer 4
It has screw bolts to adjust the length and they are easily manipulated by hand. The unit does not slide to adjust which makes it so the pets don't do the adjusting. :) The sides have hing attachments that don't require tools to assemble. The sides also fold flat to store or move. It's very user friendly.

Kind of. The sides do fold in but depending on where you have the gate fixed will determine how much space it will take up lengthwise.

answer 2
The opening between my kitchen and living room is 72". I have a Richelle free standing gate with a door and I have an additional 24" I could stretch it out to. You can also purchase the same type of gate without the door and as a 'step-over'. I have one of these in the doorway from the kitchen to my formal dining room as well as a 72" step-over from the foyer to the formal dining room. They are very attractive and are easy to assemble. Hope this helps!

The side panels extend 10" in the front and 5" in the back, allowing the gate to be free standing. You could not attach them, you would need to make sure that the gate was adequately wedged between the furniture so it could not fall down.
