I couldn't find the exact weight on the box, but I dont think it weighs more than 15-20 lbs all put together.

I measured and mine are approx 5 1/2 inches high between steps.

They are deep enough, definitely more than 5.5" - and the carpet helps with grip.

the steps aren't high, just very shallow. They will probably be fine. If they don't work PetCo will take them right back. They didn't work for my dog and I returned them immediately, no fuss at all.
