answer 1
NO. I have a dachshund with SEVERE separation anxiety issues and he really freaks out when he's crated. I have gone through 5 crates in the past 2 years...I bought this one, thinking it looked pretty sturdy - it's not. My tiny dog tore a gaping hole in the side within 6 hours' time. He chewed on the metal and tore the bars right off.

Yes! My dog loved to chew on the plastic type crates, but the metal.....just not quite the same for her;)

answer 3
As far as I can tell yes. Excessive chewing is due to anxiety. Make sure that your dog has appropriate chew toys in the crate and that he has been trained to love his crate time. Crates are not to be used for punishment!
