I have the plant in my 1.72 gallon tank and it looks pretty small in my tank. So it should fit in your tank.

Yes, it is only about four inches tall. I had it in a half gallon tank and it was fine. I fit two in a one gallon with another small decor item

answer 4
1/2 gallon is way to small for a betta to live in. They need at least a 2- 2.5 gallon. They need space to swim around and plants to hide in.

answer 5
Is your tank half a gallon or two gallons? The plant is pretty small but a half gallon tank is way too small for any fish. Just because bettas have to be alone doesnt mean they can live in a drop of water. My betta is in a 6.6 gallon tank and swims around like crazy and loves it.

I haven't noticed paint peeling off of mine yet and it doesn't seem to bother my betta if it is.
