I have had to do this once and this is why I will never buy another pad that doesn't have a waterproof cover. I also encase the foam in a large trash bag for ease of taking it out and putting it back into cover. The way I cleaned it was to put it in the tub and let the shower run on it while sqeezing as much urine out of the pad as I could. Then I filled the tub up with warm water and a little laundry detergent, just a dab. I let it soak for a while and then got in the tub and stepped on the pad to squeeze water in it a bit and drained the tub. I then stepped on it and rolled it up and squeezed as much water as I could out of it. I left it in the tub a few hours and then put it on the porch in the sun on a lawn chair and let it air dry. It was more work then the pad was worth! It did achieve the desired results though without damaging it.
