This product seems great for open type skin wounds like this. It is also advertised as very safe for any type of animal, so this product should be a great option. I will be keeping some on hand to spray on cuts and scrapes in the future in the hopes of preventing infection. I think it is also a great product to supplement antibiotics for infected wounds.

It almost sounds like your cat may have had an abscess there. Abscesses occur anywhere on the body, and on animals can go easily un noticed in areas like that.

To make his pain go away, you can ask your vet for some torbuterol or metacam. Metacam is a pain and anti-inflammatory, while Torb is just a pain management medication. Also ask for Baytril - as you want something to help it stay un-infected.

If the wound is open, you will want to rinse it out with a saline solution, which is cheap and easily found at any drugstore. After using the saline wash, use some vetericyn or quickderm to help it heal quickly. Make sure that your cat is not bothering it much, and be sure to keep it free from hair and other debris, or it will come back again. Be sure to do this 2 - 3 times a day.

If the issue comes back again, ask your vet to administer a shot of covenia to your pal. Your vet will tell you exactly what it does, but in short, it will make sure he doesn't get one again.

Question

What can I use this for?

I am out of town and have a rescued cat with me that has no skin on his arm. My vet from a diff state gave me Nolvasan Otic cleaning solution to clean the wound twice a day before I spray COLLASATE spray in order to promote skin regrowth. I ran out of my cleaning solution and no vet around sells it and told me to try petco. Can I use this new product to clean the area before spraying Collosate on it?

I can not advise its use on human. However, use of common sense is advised. If you do use it on yourself and your condition worsens stop using it immediately. If your condition does not improve within a day or two stop using it because using it longer will not change the outcome.

Yes, since Ringworm is caused by fungi. This product does not sting or burn even on open wounds so your cat will not object to additional treatments. Please use gloves when touching your cat until condition has cleared.
