There's a pull out pan beneath the upper house, but there's no screen over it. You have to hold onto the nest box until you have the pan out, and then set the nest box down onto the ground until you're ready to slide the pan back in. It's really a two person job if you want to keep from dumping the shavings and droppings as your pull the drawer out.

As for cleaning the ground in the screened in pen, I'd advice using a child-sized rake to rake out the dirty litter, or have a couple strong people help you move the unit completely so you can really clean it. There is no bottom screen over the ground, so be aware that your chickens can escape while you're lifting it. Better to collect them in a safe area first if you move the entire unit.

It has a tray on the bottom that you lift out. You clean it, dry it, and put it back in. Works especially good for chickens- I hope you have good luck with the rabbits though.

Yes, the house itself is big enough to house three banties, but you would definitely want to put this coop into a larger fenced in enclosure to give them more room to exercise and forage. We use a dog kennel with a covered top for more protection from hawks and raccoons.

Yes, it will be very roomy. That would be a good choice for bantams.

We bought ours when Petco was running a free shipping deal.

There is no way to lock the rabbit in the upper enclosure. The ramp is screwed to the base of the opening of that part, and there is no door. The ramp remains in place at all times.

Currently, you have to put the nest box inside the upper coop enclosure before you screw on the roof. There is a door on the outside you can open to reach in and get the eggs. The nest box can easily slide around if the chickens push against it, so you may have some difficulty reaching the eggs.

I guess you could opt to put the box on the ground inside the screened pen beneath, but chickens usually like a darker, more private place to lay.
