Perches will typically have size recommendations on the packaging. For an Amazon, 1" up to 2.5" would be great. It's best to have perches of various textures (rope, concrete, natural wood, NO SAND) and diameters available for optimum foot and leg health.

I recommend, for an amazon, that you get a large. Their feet aren't supposed to wrap all the way around it.

The perch size is good for a cockatiel, a little big for a budgie. I think it will be too small. Judging by the fact that you posted this 2 years ago, I doubt this will be any help, but if someone else has the same question, I hope they get the answer they need.
