With this cage, is there any way I can get access to my hamster when he is in the aquarium(lower) part?

I know that there is access by opening the door on top but what about the lower part?I dont want to have to take the whole cage top off just to see the aquarium. Is that my only option?

The only I have seen is to take off the top. If there is a better idea, I'd sure like to know it too.

Unless you have really long arms and can reach through the top door, through the ramp hole, and into the aquarium..... you will have to pop off the cage topper. It's not that hard, just unhook the spring on each end.

The only way you can do this is to open up the top part of the cage that has the wire and then coax your hamster up the ramp using a treat. Your hamster must be tamed though to do this.

You probably could, but you would need a way to hold the screen down. Maybe by using clips or safe glue that they can't reach? I also don't suggest using screen as that would be easy to chew through, hardware cloth would work a lot better.

Question

how large are the spaces between the bars?

My gerbils cew on the bars if they can fit their noses between them and get their teeth around the bars. I know the bars oare chew-proof, but they can get their noses caught and wreck their teeth.

Thanks!

The bar spacing is 1/4, which is fine for mice. They shouldn't be able to get out, nor be able to slip out the bottom as it sits snugly on the aquarium and has hooks to make sure it can't be lifted.
