Questions & Answers for Advanced Oral Care Nylabone Advanced Oral Care Liquid Tartar Remover for Dogs

Question

My vet instructed me to give my dog a dental/tarter addative to his water bowl. Are there any side effects?

My dog is 13 years old Pom and has a grade 5 heart murmer. He is on Enalipri and other medication daily. I don't want to put him on something if it will have bad results for the rest of his health. Please let me know if this is safe for him and if you have a particular brand/product you recommend.

We've used Nylabone Liquid Tartar Remover for our 3 rescue dogs for over a year, and I think it's making a difference. Two of our dogs are about 11 or 12. We rescued them when they were adults, so not sure of their age. The oldest one has thyroid cancer, and she's the one who won't chew on bones, so this is important for her. It's had no side effects that we have noticed, and we have her on chemo pills. Make sure you get the tartar remover, not the breath freshener.

My dogs are 12 1/2, have never had their teeth cleaned, and one has oral cancer. Within a week their teeth were clean and white and the vet said I should keep them on it the rest of their lives.

Our Standard Poodle has been on this product for a year with no harmful effects, but she is not on any medication and is a young dog. We have been using Nylabone Advanced Oral Care. Our daughter has been using it for her 12 year old Pomeranian with no problems.

Neither my dogs nor my cats would drink the water with this additive in it. However, my pets are exceptionally spoiled, so your mileage may vary.

Question

Will the oral dog rinses ruin my floors or furniture?

I have a shihtzu bichon with really bad tartar. It was recommended to me to try the rinses that you add to your dogs water. My concern is that when she drinks her nose and hair get wet and she leaves drips on the floor, will any of these products harm my floors, carpeting, or furniture??

I can't speak for that particular product, but we use the TropiClean water additive for our Japanese Chin and Miniature Poodle - in all the time we've used it, we've never noticed any staining or damage to any of our furnishings (the Poodle especially likes to wipe her mouth on whatever is handy after eating or drinking lol).

Question

hi, does Nylabone liquid tartar remover have side effects?

My dog has developed runny stools since beginning Nylabone Liquid Tartar Remover.
He also started powdered Angels Eyes for tear stains at the same time. It is all
natural so I doubt any ingredient in it would cause his problem. But please let me know
if other animals have experienced runny stools since beginning Nylabone Liquid
Tartar Remover. Thank you.

Try to stop using one of them to see whats the problem it could be the Tarter remover or it could be the powder. It could also be that wile drinking your dog could have accidentally took in some of the powder but sorta unlikely. just try and use process of elimination. It may also just be using both those things at the same time.

I was wondering the same thing, and after reading the back label again I noticed, it says for use with dogs only not intended for use with cats.
