They are separate. The cage could be put on something else, but the stand is a perfect height.

Yes you can but I believe using some kind of base for it is needed unless you have a very good system set up for suspending it.

The cage part only sits on top of the cart portion. It is possible to use it separately.

Yes, you can use the cage alone, or set it on the stand. We set our cage on the stand and added a few zip-ties to secure the cage to the stand, in order to make sure it would not get pushed off when we move the whole apparatus around, since the stand has wheels. This was just an extra precaution.

If you choose not to use the stand with the cage, but want to make use of it as a cart, you would need to make a top shelf for it.

It does not have a hook for hanging it and personally I think it is too big for that, but that is a personal preference. I suppose that you could, but be very careful with it.

answer 2
Probably but you would need strong supports, preferably in each corner attached to the frame and not the bars.

I have no concerns about the cage and stand separating. The cage is placed on bars of the stand with tabs that keep it from moving forwards or backwards. It is inside the side bars. It is quite heavy and well balanced. Not top heavy.

The space is adequate for an Indian Ringneck. The bar thickness is acceptable but on the thinner side for a Ringneck. Another cage we offer through Petco. is the HQ #22217C. It is a smaller cage but with thicker bars and more suitable for a ringneck.

I think this cage would be more than plenty of room for one parakeet to fly. I have six parakeets and they are very happy, they fly around nicely. Just keep the cage uncluttered with a minimum hanging toys etc. and have perches spaced for landing at different levels. I move things around, add to and take away to keep things interesting too. One keet may just think he or she is living in a mansion:) This is purely my opinion gleaned from over six years experience and lots of research. Hope this helps.
