Create a safe exercise & play area for your pet indoors or outThis portable wire pen is easy to setup and folds flat for storage or travelUnique door-in-door feature to provide food or water without your pet escapingFeatures 8 - 24" wide panelsOffered in a variety of heights
The concern would be if the dog is prone to jumping. The length of the exercise pens are all the same. Multiple units can be connected together to make a larger area. However, depending on the height of your pet and whether he would be enticed to jump over the railing would be the concern. If the pet jumps then you would want to go with a higher unit. I would recommend the 36" or higher.

whats a good size for a german shepherd puppy?
I'm only looking to use it from when i bring her home (8 weeks) until she's a little under full grown (i have an xl crate that ill be using once she's big enough for it). i want it to be tall enough so she won't be able to jump out but short enough for me to reach over and pick her up out (when she's still small) of it if need be.
The 36 in. tall pen is perfect for this. The 42 in. is harder to lift out my large puppy, and the 48 in. prevents me from playing with her. I expect her to reach about 80 lbs., and I think this pen will work until she gets out of the chewing stage. I have it connected to an extra large wire crate that is also 36 in. tall for a great play and sleep area.

what is the circumference of the pen? I see the width of each pannel and height but am not sure about how big the actual pen is.
Petmate Exercise Pen in Black our dog is a 55 lb australian shepherd/blue heeler mix. We do not have a fenced in yard at the time and were trying to figure out an alternative to keep our dog in the yard but provide exercise. Thankyou
