Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Merrick Pet Care does own and operate our facilities and also manufacture our products and treats. We have a dry plant, wet plant, and a treat plant. Our facilities are located in Hereford Texas. Our ingredients come from the USA. We have gone through extreme procedures to be able to guarantee to our customers that not only do all of our ingredients not come from China, but they are not sourced from there either. We get our Lamb and Venison from Australia or New Zealand. All of our other meat, including fish comes from the US. We don’t use any hidden ingredients or by-products in our products. We are very proud to be able to say our Merrick Products are China Free. Have a wonderful day!

Re: Merrick's Sargent Saddle Bone, are these bones so hard that I need to worry about my dogs cracking my tile floors while playing with/chewing them?

Our breeder had similar looking bones that she obtained at a dog show for her kennel dogs. When I expressed interest in obtaining them to prevent them from chewing on in appropriate objects, I was told they were hard enough to crack our tile floors. Therefore it was ill advised. Her dogs only chew the ones she obtained at the dog show in the kennel areas. I have three rather large puppies who are very aggressive chewers and I would think these bones would be ideal. Plus Merrick Products (foods and treats) are highly rated so I feel confident purchasing from your company, but at the same time I obviously do not desire to ruin my floors.

These natural bones are hard and could be capable of breaking the floor if dropped hard enough. If you need suggestions for softer treats please feel free to contact our Pet Parent Relations Department at
