Need extension for north star auto close gate

We purchased a north star metal auto close white gate model 4991 from Normal, Ill store We need a 4 to 6 inch extension to one side to increase width. We ordered online from petco a model 4802 which is made differently and does not work and are returning. But we cannot find the correct extension online.
