I bought this bag last min to get my new puppy from Dallas to NYC and southwest didn't say a word to me. It fit easily under the seat and she loves it. On the flip my dog has gotten out a number of times and the shoulder strap just broke on me.

Depends on the airline. Southwest Airlines immediately turned this bag away for my jack russell, even though we had called ahead of time and they assured us it would be perfectly fine :-\

I also checked the measurements online and it fit the guidelines. I just took my first flight with it. Truthfully, NOONE at the airport or on the plane checked the carrier at all! We made the dog reservation online, and checked in online. My boarding pass said I was traveling with my pet. But, again, NOTHING was checked/ examined at the airport or on the plane. We used the carrier with no problem. Had a great experience. I would highly recommend.
