A typical number two pencil eraser is a good visual. I'm sure little dogs would be fine with it but my medium horse likes to gnosh on them too and he chews them doesn't just inhale them either.

They're small and circular, about 5/8" in diameter and 3/8" in width. They are the right size for smaller dogs, but I've noticed that larger dogs don't have any problems making them disappear fast.

You can find the ingredients of each of the formulas under the "Ingredients & G&A" section above (right of the Description). That should give you the information you need!

The company has a web site, I believe I saw all of that there. The dog food rating sites, of where there are a few, all give it top marks for nutrition. It's not rock hard and the pellets are small, no colors. If there is a puppy version petco doesn't carry it and this is the only place I've seen the brand, I asked the manufacturer if it's for sale off the shelf anyplace in Florida they tell me it is not. I guess they must drop ship when petco gets an order. There is salmon flavor, chicken flavor and lamb flavor depending upon the meat product in each individual type. The twenty seven pound bag is a good deal and my 60 pound pit terrier eats most of a bag every month. I try to buy a different flavor every month so he doesn't get too bored eating the same thing all the time.

answer 2
I'm not a vet ... just a dog owner and dog lover ... but I would guess the cautionary foods for humans with diabetes also applies to dogs. Find foods low in sugar and also low or devoid of wheat/flour products. I use this product exclusively now for my dogs. They don't have diabetes, but I try to keep them on a healthy and nutritious diet. Having a meat/fish/poultry item as a first ingredient and very little, if any, wheat is a good choice. Your best course of action, however, would be to print out the ingredient listing and take it to your vet to get his or her expert advice.

If you have a great dane puppy, you need to give it the best nutrition possible so they grow up strong and healthy and reach their full potential. I use Nutro puppy food. I like the chicken an rice formula, as far as the puppies likeing the flavor, but any NUTRO puppy food is good. It may seem expensive, but they seem to eat less, since it's packed with nutrients, so a little goes a long way. Good Luck!
