Questions & Answers for API PondCare AlgaeFix

Question

Is Algae Fix safe if my dog accidently drinks from the pond?

My pond is small with a rock bottom and 6-12 inches of water. I have a problem with string algae. My dog has walked through the pond and occasionally will drink from it. Is Algae Fix safe if a dog drinks a small amount of water with Algae Fix in it?

I had a cat that drank from my pond that was treated per the instructions. He would seldom drink anything else. He did it for 7 years until he died at 19 years old. I don't think it hurt him.

I called my veterinarian and read him the ingredients. It is not safe for my dog to drink. She has drunk it from the fountain. I only used a couple of drops in the 4 foot fountain bowl. I can't tell if it was harmful. I'm not going to reorder it, just in case. Too bad. It works really well. I'll get it again if I don't have a pet.

Find the approximate number of cubic feet (avg. width x avg. length x avg. depth) Multiply cubic feet by 7.5 (7.5 gallons/cu.ft). Divide by 2400 to get the number of cups to use. From the specs you gave, you need approx 2 1/4 cups.

I seem to be uable to order Ecofix by Pondcare and was told possibly that it might be discontinued????

That product works hand in hand with Algaefix and would like you to reconsider carrying Ecofix if in fact it has been discontinued. Please advise.
