Questions & Answers for Drinkwell Drinkwell Pagoda Porcelain Pet Drinking Fountain

Question

replacement filter (not carbon)

There is an additional filter around the whole motor and carbon filter container. Where can I order placements for that? Mine is falling apart, and while I appreciate it's keeping cat hair out of the motor - it's full of hair and blocking water flow. should be a replacement part just like the carbon filters.

I think the drinkwell site has the foam filter. I just buy a bulk bag of white/or blue fish filter material and cut out a new one every few months.

There are two filters, the first is rough looking almost like a scrubbing pad and goes around the outside of the filter assembly. It goes around the outside of the filter assembly an keeps hair, catnip leaves and buds, etc. from going into the pump assembly. The carbon filter will remove the off taste of faucet water and leave it tasting better.

Sure. No need to add the carbon filter. I just wanted a healthier fountain for my kid. I used the one that came in the box and that was it.

answer 2
Yes, the water pump, pump flow adapter and filter cartridge are plastic. I was not wild about this at first, but we live in a plastic kinda world. As long as you clean it once a week your fine. The two main parts (dish and center pump cover) are both ceramic/porcelain...better than a mostly plastic fountain.

answer 3
The motor and filter case are plastic, both sit in the water. There are two rubber parts that also come into contact with the water, one to keep water out of the hole in the bottom that the cord goes through and another at the top of the fountain were the water flows out.

I did not find the fountain at my store locally, so I had to order online. The order did come quickly, within a few days. I would have happily paid more to get the fountain immediately.

Perhaps at the retail store you could ask if they would match the online price?

Then make your decision…immediately or wait…either choice is fine as this fountain is worth the price. You won't be disappointed, neither will your pets.

No - I have not experienced any splashing. If you have a pet that might be a little sloppy they might splash. I have 3 cats and no issue at all.

Plugs in with a black power cord. 2 Cords actually, the motor cord plugs into the wall plug cord for the function of taking it apart. The bowl can be separated, as it comes in parts in the box and you assemble it yourself easily. The instructions say it is dishwasher safe but not recommended.
