Yes we did. Just went and bought another one and measured the prongs and my husband put holes just big enough to get them thru so the box wouldn't fall off. You do have to use the box of course, but the collar can be changed with a little effort.

I also have had to move my fence. The store where you purchased the system should carry more wire. When we moved, the fence was buried and had been for a few years, so we just bought more. It doesn't cost much and usually I think comes in 500yard spools. We didn't need to buy 2 kits. We just walked the dogs around where the fence was so they could hear the beeping warning.

If it is the Innotek, it will take the 6v RAF18, they are about half the size of a double A and are orange with green writing. I just had to buy some!! If it takes the disk, you can take the old one up to the store and they will find it for you. I have found mine at both major pet stores and also farm and home store.

Based on my usage of this product it would not work on a deaf dog as well because he would get no pre warning because he would not hear the sound. I This product does not offer any other warning other than the sound then the shock. The goal is to have the sound be the deterrent and not have the shock happen. I would look for a product that offers a vibration type warning before a shock.

Hope this helped

These fences work great as long as you are consistent with it. After the dog is shocked a time or two, they learn that it is not fun and they will usually stay in the assigned area pretty soon. You just need to be set on keeping the dog in the assigned area. If you take the dog in and out of the area on a regular basis, they will think that it is ok to go over the boundry.

Yes, the fence wire can be installed by running it through PVC pipe first and is recommended. I would suggest putting some gravel under it and drill a few holes along the under side in case water makes its way inside the pipe.

answer 2
It does not have a field adjustment. The boundary is set by where you place the line. You can control the boundary though so lets say your dog gets a warning or shocked when he is at 1 foot from the wire or 2 or 3 feet you can adjust that on the transmitter box. Easy to do and then you can walk around with the collar and tester to see if you are happy with the boundary lines. There are some other models that adjust the field entirely (diameter control) it is in the shape of a circle so it will not conform to your yard.

you can do a double loop thing where you just bury the wire where you need it then make a loop and come back and bury the other half of the loop a few feet away from the first section and both ends will connect into the transmitter, but yes it has to form some kind of circle.
