answer 1
For wire cages, you may remove the base and it will lock in pretty good to the wire. For tanks like what I have, you can just set it in with the base on whatever way you want it facing! Your pets wont be able to lift it up or tip it.

Either way! I have an aquarium for my mouse and use the stand that is included to put it on the floor of the aquarium. Or the yellow piece on the back twists off and you can attach it through the bars in a metal cage :)

answer 3
Hi,
It is attachable to any cage bars. If you are attaching it this way then you can discard the stand easily.
If you prefer, just keep the stand on and place it anywhere in your cage or tank. I recommend if you use the stand to pat down the bedding firmly and place it gently on top, or else you will hear it racking on the glass floor.
Hope this helps!
