You need to purchase your pack based on your Rottie's weight; so I can't tell you if a two-pack will be sufficient. Vets recommend treating 3 times; a week apart, just to make sure that all newly-hatched eggs have been taken care of, but I've found it seems a bit of overkill, and can result in sick dogs and/or their becoming resistant to the treatment.

I buy the twelve-pack, because it's the cheapest per tab; and then treat as needed. Generally one treatment is all that is needed. However, if you have your Rottie outside regularly, and they get fleas, the fleas will re-introduce the worm eggs, so re-treatment approximately every 2-3 months, or when you see symptoms (eggs in stool; rubbing of back-end, etc.) will be needed

There are a number of different worms that can attack dogs, including heartworm, tape worm, ring worm, whip worm, and hook worm. Each package will tell you the specific types of worms it treats. Many wormers do NOT treat heartworm, so you will want to read the specifications on the specific package before purchasing it.
