Yes. The label says it's for fresh and saltwater tanks. However, Stress Coat is not as effective as it used to be, so make sure you're using a reliable water conditioner along with it.

I have a bottle of that product, at the very bottom of the label it says fresh or salt water. Personally I've used it for both with no adverse effects to my inverts, corals or fish; so by all means give it a shot.

There's no bacteria in this, so no. Use a product that says it's a bacteria supplement, such as Stress Zyme, Quick Start, Seachem Stability, etc.

No. This is StressCoat. What you're asking about is called StressZyme, also by API. I've never tried it as I don't like adding bacteria in that manner.

Don't measure in drops. Measure in milileters like the label says. For each gallon, you'll need half of a millileter. So for a 2.5 gallon tank, you should use one and a half millileters.

However, if you're using this as a water conditioner to remove chlorine and chloromine, use something else. Stress Coat is not as effective as it used to be.

answer 2
My educated guess would be to add a 1/2 teaspoon. I have a 2.5 gallon tank too and I'm going to be putting a betta in it so that's what I'm going to put in.

Do you deliberately give it to her? Or does she just take it for her self? As far as I know Whatever substance in the conditioner that is good for fishes, might not be good for cats.Whether it will hurt her or not I do not think it is safe for a cat to drink fish water. Especially because fishes carry many diseases

I've used them together with no problems. Neither is a good chlorine or chloramine remover, though, so you will have to use a good conditioner along with them.

Stress coat says it removes chlorine and chloromine, but I tested my water and there was enough chloromine to kill my poor betta. Make sure you use a conditioner!
