I was wondering the same thing. You can use this if you wish but because Russian tortoises are land dwellers just to be safe you should probably use coconut fiber

Yes, but maybe Aspen Snake Bedding with a little dampened sphagnum moss mixed in would work better to keep humdity up unless your using Repti-Fogger, then the bark would work very nicely.

Question

Can I use this for a Leopard Gecko?

I'm getting a Leo this May and am looking at coconut fiber & these bark things. If I mixed them together would they be fine for a Leo? I know sand and stuff like that causes impaction sometimes, but I have read from a proffessional book and it says if you supply them with a calcium dish they normally won't try to eat the sand. I will probably end up feeding them with food tongs or on a desk so that they won't swallow the sand when eating. I just want to know how to care and other stuff for them.
