Is Tea Tree safe to use on cats?I heard it wasn't and alot of essential oils can be harmful to cats.
I have a long hair Maine Coone mix . I lived in the back country with my pets and my cats stayed right in the fenced area around my house and played outside during the day and came in for the night at dinner. I used Advantage II on them and they were fine, no flea problems or anything else. I ended up having to move after my long time pet family passed away. I did still have one previously feral, abandoned kitten I rescued and tamed, who is now 5 yrs old, who moved with me to an older, carpeted apt. After we moved in we found it was infested with fleas and I have been battling them with baths, Advantage, daily vacuuming and other things . I can't use a flea bomb because I have health issues and chemical allergies that make me sick. I have washing him with a natural oatmeal shampoo which has soothed the bad areas. His poor skin is getting better but the fleas are STILL here. I know Tea Tree is supposed to help the skin and I heard that it is supposed to help keep the fleas off, but I want to make sure it is safe to use on cats because they are so different from dogs.
