Will this be suitable for hamsters?

I have recently heard some comments that the chinchilla dust will cause respiratory problems. I'd this true? Or should I buy chinchilla sand?

No it is not suitable for hamsters. Yes dust WILL cause respiratory problems because it is so fine. You should use sand because it is coarser and heavier, so they won't inhale it.
