Absolutely it is. Weight control is a big deal for any dog. You hear about it more in big dogs with joint problems, but a reduced fat diet can help manage weight in any size dog.

My vet recommended reduced fat food for my miniature dachshund years ago and she has done great on it. she always stays within 1 lb of her ideal weight, and when shes overweight its because I give her too many treats and not the foods fault.

yes. My beagle mix 8year old is able to maintain a healthy weight. Plus she is not a diabetic. She has short legs so I did not want extra stress on her legs.
