I administered directly. My dog is 55lbs - so I had to do 5.5 droppers... my dog had not problem taking all five one after another. I also added to his food.

Having used two types of these organic STRESS REDUCERS for my Maine Coons cats, both bottles said the product can be put into a small amount of food or water.

CALM DOWN recommends 2x day IN water, while a CALM STRESS suggests trying using dropper first, and then if not able, to put into food/water.

May I suggest going onto the products actual website, or calling them, just to be SURE how to proceed? I don't want to give you improper advice and endanger your beloved fur-family member :-)

Best Wishes....

The way I understood it you can mix it with water or food or by itself. I tried it with peanutbutter once and the rest of the time I put the amount recommended in a little bowl and he lapped it up. But good luck...it did not work on our dog. And it does say that if the dropper touches the pet's mouth that you need to wash it...don't understand why when he's the only one using it but I followed the directions, and started using the bowl after that.

My guess would be "no" because he needs a certain dose. Unless he routinely drinks all of his water at once.

I have used a product called CALM DOWN (found at another location), which CAN be put in water - recommended, actually, twice a day.

If you have the difficulty I have using a dropper on my cat, that might be an easier alternative. It is also "organic" and produces the same effects.

Best of luck!

I don't know if you CAN but you might not want to. I won't work as well because it's dilluted. Go ahead and administer it as directed by the dropper.

I thought the smell was foul. Bit vinegar and a STRONG medicinal smell. I was very surprised my dog liked/drank it. I did mix it on his food for one use .... don't know if you can really do that though (directions are vague).

This product doesn't seem to have a vinegary smell. Mine does, however smell nutty (sunflower or peanut, perhaps?)

Question

How will this make my dogs feel? Will it put them to sleep completely?

I have two chihuahuas; both are no more than 3 pounds. Fourth of July is coming up and both get reeeally bad anxiety brought on by the fireworks. I would love to give this to them to take the edge off, but Im curious as to how it would make them feel. Yes they would be calm and docile, but i wouldn't want them to feel drunk like their little worlds are spinning or not be able to function.
Will I still be able to take them out to use the restroom and get up to get water or will it knock them out completely?

Thanks a bunch! :D

It made my 13 pound cat very very mellow, but she still got up to use the litter box. Probably you would only want to use 1/3 of a dropper (1/3 ml). I used a full dropper (1 ml) for our cat.

Our little guys are 14-16lbs and this stuff just makes them a bit calmer during storms. The most we have ever given our most skittish guy is three dropper fulls (it says 1-4 droppers for their size) and it helps him to doze off. He is not loopy or druggy at all, just kinda sleepy. It's basically really intense chamomile tea for pups! He used to tremble and nervously lick his lips and pant and pace during storms. It's thundering right now and he's snoozing away on the couch (after 3 droppers...it's a really loud storm!).

My bottle does have an expiration date on it: 2015. I bought it last year (2013) so even if you can't find an expiration date on yours, I'd just go ahead and get a new one just to be on the safe side.

I think it would be safe to do so, but I don't think it would be very effective. Although I haven't had the need to use it for my cat, I've used it for years for my dog when a thunderstorm comes around. Although the package directions says to administer it directly into the pet's mouth, I mix it with a little canned food so she will eat it herself. She eats the whole amount so I know she's getting the full dose. If I were to administer it to my cat, I'd probably mix it with his canned food as well.

Question

i am looking at the 'stress-reducers " in your inventory for cats.

My kitten is 14-15 wks. old, and is absolutely WILD !!!! She is ADD and HOSTILE ! I love her, and don't want to give her up. Which of these products would you recommend for a cat of this age ? (1) Good Cat ,(2) Nature's Miracle Spray for cats , (3) Only Natural Pet Anti-Anxiety & Stress Homeopathic Drops...etc. This poor little creature bites and scratches A LOT , and I know that's how kitten siblings play, but it's not fun being bitten and scratched all the time.
