answer 2
Look on the lamp base. There is usually a sticker that tells you the max watts you can use in that particular lamp. I have a 7.5 clamp lamp and the most it can take is 150 watts.

Yes, a higher wattage bulb will produce more heat; just make sure you don't exceed the wattage limit of your fixture

answer 4
You can use higher wattage bulbs if they are the same size. They use more energy and can cost a little more, but can produce more heat/brighter light. It really depends on the animal to know if you need to use a higher wattage, but yes. I use a 75 watt with my dome and it came with a 50 watt.

I would just buy one small one, reptiles need to be able to move out of the heat if they wish to.

answer 2
If you place the tank within reach of some sunlight you would only need the mat. Otherwise a good basking light is needed. You are covered as far as heat with the pad. UVB and a timer set at 10 or 12 hours is best.

You place the curved ends around the white part of the lamp, place the clamps circle end between the silver pieces(the square part not the circle indent) and tighten until it hold.
